Settling in to life in Brisbane
Graham remains involved in managing the Grand Hotel Excelsior on the Mediterranean island of Malta, but spends more time these days in Brisbane and southeast Asia.Amelia finished her dissertation at U.C. Berkeley on the city of Corinth in Late Antiquity, and a great semester as a Hellenic Studies post-doc at Princeton. She's now teaching at University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. You can read more about her academic scholarship on the website of the American School's Corinth Excavations, or at her own academic website.
We have also recently set up a small publishing company: Tiny Island Global Publishing.
In 2008 we sailed from Malta around Sicily and back with the Rolex Middle Sea Race. Our skipper was Ken Raby on the J-109 Squibs, and we finished 53rd overall, 15th in our class. Winds ranged from nothing to 30+, and you can see our track online at the Royal Malta Yacht Club tracking site. We saw Stromboli erupting, and navigated Scylla and Charybdis (the Straits of Messina) by dark.
